NFL Draft Live Blog: Breaking down the first round and the Falcons' selection

The Falcons selected Vic Beasley!

It's time for the NFL Draft. Months of rumors and speculation and mock drafts and the occasional report will all be wrapped up after the three day event, which means sweet, sweet relief. It also means a brand new draft class for this Atlanta team.

Join us for three days of Falcons draft picks, analysis, grades and gentle mockery of our division rivals. We'll have some fun.

11:45 p.m. Well, I guess the live blog kind of died out after Beasley was selected. Thanks for commenting, everyone!

9:05 p.m. The Falcons get Beasley. Go here!

8:52: The Bears wind up with . THE FALCONS ARE ON THE CLOCK!

8:48 p.m. Jets come up and take Leonard Williams. They don't have a great need for the guy, but he's pretty great.

8:41: Washington takes Brandon Scherff. If the Falcons want to trade up for Leonard Williams, now's probably the time.

8:35: Amari Cooper to the Raiders in the first real surprise of the night. Classic Al Davis...wait.

8:28: The Jaguars wind up with Dante Fowler. He's a good fit there, and it appears the Falcons couldn't get up, if he was a target.

8:22: The Titans pull off a mild surprise, picking Marcus Mariota and not trading out of the spot. Jaguars pick is in.

8:15 p.m. The Buccaneers picked Jameis Winston, which is not even remotely surprising.
