Artist John Raya's Star Wars inspired Atlanta Falcons helmet is pretty freaking cool

Fact: Darth Vader is an Atlanta native

Kelly Lambert-USA TODAY Sports

For the Atlanta Falcons, the future is now. New head coach, new assistants, and $1.5 billion dollars later, a futuristic, technology-infused stadium. Where's Marty McFly when you need him?

But as futuristic as the status quo may seem, we're not quite Star Wars futuristic yet. If you haven't heard, the new Star Wars trailer hit YouTube today - go watch it now, if you haven't already. Ten million views later, I'm pumped. Say what you want, but eleven-year-old me thought Star Wars figurines and fan fiction were the bee's knees.

In honor of this momentous occasion, I humbly present you with artist John Raya's Star Wars inspired Falcons helmet. Huzzah!

It's a pretty neat design. Raya did one for every team, because he's cool like that. Click on the link above if you'd like to see his renderings for the other NFL teams. Can you imagine a professional football league on Tatooine? Its inhabitants definitely couldn't afford personal seat licenses, that's for sure.

Your thoughts?
