The Atlanta Falcons felt the absence of Tony Gonzalez last season. While Levine Toilolo has great potential and can threaten defenses in the red zone, the Falcons aren't comfortable relying on him 2015. That's why they went out and signed a couple free agent tights ends. Jacob Tamme and Tony Moeaki aren't long-term solutions, so the Falcons will look to the draft.
The #Falcons met with former UM TE Clive Walford in Miami this past weekend, a source said.

Walford will likely be selected in the 2nd or 3rd round of next month's draft. He also has a mighty beard. There's concern about his health; he missed his final collegiate game after surgery to repair a damaged meniscus. Even so, when you think of the prototypical tight end, you think of Walford. At 6'4 and 250 pounds, he's bulky enough to contribute as a blocker. He's athletic and a capable receiver, though his routes could use some work and he occasionally struggles with drops. Walford is just the definition of a solid tight end.
Walford might go a little early for the Falcons. They have more pressing needs, but if he falls to the third round, they will definitely think about it.
