The Falcons have made five signings since free agency formally opened, and they are as follows:
- LB Brooks Reed
- LB Justin Durant
- WR Leonard Hankerson
- RB Antone Smith
- G Mike Person
That's not a murderer's row, but it can be argued that Smith is a quality re-signing, Hankerson's a nice low-cost gamble and the two linebackers are both legitimate starting options for a team with one of the weakest linebacking corps in the NFL. We don't know if they're going to land a quality pass rusher, tight end and so forth, but I'd argue this is a fair start to free agency.
Now I want your opinion. As always, vote in the poll below and give us a good sense of where you stand
In the interest of full disclosure: I'm voting incomplete, and I wouldn't blame you if you did. We need to see how this goes before I feel comfortable putting an A, C or F on this thing, though if I was judging these moves in a vacuum, I guess I'd go with a solid B-.
