Report: Desmond Trufant has already talked to Dan Quinn and is excited to play for him

Fact: Desmond Trufant's right pinkie toe is a full inch longer than the toe next to it

New Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn had a busy first week. Between reaching out to players, speaking to the media, and finalizing his coaching staff, Quinn deserved a cocktail or seven this weekend. In the midst of this busy week, Quinn has made speaking to players a priority, and it's already paying dividends. Credit to the AJC's D. Orlando Ledbetter for the quote.

Quinn, who has been evaluating the Falcons roster, has also reached out to Trufant.

"I've talked to him," Trufant said. "He can't wait to start working with us. I'm looking forward to it and I'm ready to start getting this turned around."

This talk of reaching out to players is not just talk. Quinn is going to deliberately evaluate this 53 man roster, shaping and grooming it. It's the right thing to do, and he's wasting no time doing it.

Trufant has a unique perspective because his brother played under Quinn in Seattle. According to Marcus Trufant, Quinn has always exuded that head coach vibe; they weren't asking if he'd become a head coach, only when.
