The Atlanta Falcons can't buy a win at this point. Yesterday was a depressing reality check for Falcons fans who were still eyeing a potential playoff birth. But alas, I suppose there's a silver lining: no noteworthy injuries! A few things worth pointing out, however.
Devonta Freeman made his much-anticipated return. I'll admit, I felt better after he took a couple of hard hits. A regression of any sort after he cleared the concussion protocol would've been heartbreaking. Luckily that wasn't the case, and it appears he's back at 100 percent. So there's some good news.
Matt Ryan took a nasty hit in the first half, and unless my eyes deceived me, there's was a bit of helmet to helmet contact. The hit was so hard that he fumbled. (Ironic that Tevin Coleman recovered a fumble for once.) I mention this only because the hits on Ryan just keep coming. At some point it's going to have its effect, whether mentally or physically.
