Predict the final score of Falcons-Panthers in Week 16

Your knee-jerk reaction to this headline is going to be to predict some horrible, almost comically lopsided win for the Carolina Panthers. It's probably the right reaction, but give it a little thought.

If you're looking to feel a little more positive about this matchup, remember that Carolina may lose a little bit of motivation here with their record, and the Falcons are both at home and possessing no small amount of motivation to avenge their last loss and throw a spike mat in Carolina's roadway. Frankly, though, Carolina is the much better team and Atlanta has been mighty shaky for most of the last two months, so I'm not counting on a win.

In fact, I'll go ahead and predict a 31-20 victory for Carolina. I think the Falcons will manage to score a bit at home and keep the Panthers from completely running away with it in blowout fashion, but that's about all I'm willing to guarantee.
