The Hankerson experiment did not go exactly as hoped. 11 days after stashing the wide receiver on injured reserve, the Falcons are dropping him from the roster.
Pro Football Talk had the news.
Falcons are releasing WR Leonard Hankerson from IR today; he will be eligible to be claimed on waivers.

Hankerson will almost certainly not return in 2016. He was believed to be hand-picked by coordinator Kyle Shanahan, so the move is interesting.
Pro Football Focus had Hankerson with an astonishing 8 dropped passes on 44 targets, good for the worst drop rate in the league. He finished his disastrous comeback season with only 327 receiving yards, ranking as PFF's 114th best wide receiver.
