NFL Week 9: Early games discussion thread

The Falcons sadly don't play until later this afternoon, which means you need to fill up that giant void in your life somehow. Might we suggest 1 p.m. football games?

The ones to watch this week are the Saints and Panthers games, of course. The Panthers are hosting the mighty Packers, who are in a bit of a rut but have an excellent chance to defeat Carolina and end their undefeated streak at 7. That would be welcome for the Falcons, who could be just a half-game behind if they beat San Francisco and Carolina drops this one.

The Saints, meanwhile, host the woeful Titans, who may get a little bounce out of firing coach Ken Whisenhunt. The Saints have made enough noise over the last month that a loss would be welcome to put them further behind and diminish their chances of sticking around in the NFC playoff picture in the second half of the season.

Here's your early slate as you wait for the Falcons to kick off at 4:05 p.m.

Dolphins @ Bills

Packers @ Panthers

Jaguars @ Jets

Rams @ Vikings

Redskins @ Patriots

Titans @ Saints

Raiders @ Steelers
