Dan Quinn said after practice that this was one of the best Fridays the team has had in a while. The energy in the locker room after practice was a little different than it had been throughout the week as well. Let's hope that's an indication that things will be more consistent on the field on Sunday.
Four Falcons player will definitely not be on the field on Sunday, however. As expected after being held out of practice all week, strong safety William Moore (groin), cornerback Robert Alford (groin), linebacker Justin Durant (calf) and wide receiver Leonard Hankerson (hamstring) will not be able to play on Sunday.
Vic Beasley was held out of Friday's practice with a foot injury and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Quinn sounded reasonably confident that Beasley will be able to play on Sunday.
Jonathan Babineaux also was excused from Friday's practice for personal reasons. Babs is listed as probable.
Tyson Jackson (ribs) practiced fully all week and is probable for Sunday. Nick Williams (hamstring), James Stone (calf), Mike Person (ankle) and Desmond Trufant (back) all practiced fully today and are probable for Sunday's game.
I specifically asked Quinn if Person is prepared to start on Sunday, and he confirmed that he is, so that is my expectation at center. I also asked Quinn if Trufant is fully ready to go -- which is a big concern, particularly with Alford being confirmed out for Sunday -- and Quinn said that they've been pleased with Tru's progress throughout the week and that he is ready to start on Sunday.
