Football Outsiders posits that the Falcons have the 2nd-easiest schedule going forward

New, comments

They're probably right, and that's great news for the Falcons.

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

We knew the Falcons had a pretty easy schedule, especially in the first half, but how does the upcoming slate look for Atlanta?

Short answer: Nice. That's the word from Football Outsiders, who crunched the numbers and came away with

2. Atlanta Falcons (55.3 percent) The Falcons have the easiest schedule in the league over all 16 games. And believe it or not, their schedule actually gets slightly harder from here on; an average team should have won 56.0 percent of Atlanta's games so far. That average team would be favored in all of Atlanta's remaining games except the home-and-home with Carolina in Weeks 14 and 16.

The slightly increased difficulty and the Falcons' shaky play have me believing they'll go .500 or just above in the second half of the season, but thankfully that first half has them primed for a playoff spot, either way. If they start playing at a higher level week-in and week-out, that schedule is only going to help them in their quest for favorable playoff seeding.

Read the full article here, and see who has an easier schedule. Hint: It's unfortunately another NFC South team.
