Three Atlanta Falcons are among the very top vote-getters at their positions for the Pro Bowl, and while that honor isn't as meaningful as it once was, it is well-deserved.
Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman, and Matt Bosher are the three players in question, and each has been a standout for this 6-3 Falcons team. It's fair to say that without them (particularly Julio and Devonta), this team would not have a winning record.
Julio has 80 receptions for 1,029 yards and six touchdowns, and is one of the league's great receivers, even if the offense has been force-feeding him a bit thus far in 2015. Freeman has 164 carries for 721 yards and nine touchdowns, and has been one of the best backs in the NFL, full-stop. Bosher is one of the NFL's best punters year after year, and he's getting his due right now.
It's quite obvious that Desmond Trufant also belongs here, but we'll have to wait a little longer to see if he makes the list. If the Falcons can rebound from their awful month heading into the bye and make the playoffs, there's an outside chance you'll see others, as well. You can help the cause by voting for Falcons on the Pro Bowl ballot.
Congratulations to Julio, Devonta, and Bosher, and we'll look forward to seeing them play in that meaningless game next year.
