The mighty Atlanta Falcons demolished the lowly Houston Texans yesterday. The first quarter of the season is now in the rearview mirror. At 4-0, the Falcons are kicking butt and taking names. And as an added bonus, they've [furiously knocks on wood] somehow avoided significant injuries. Here's your post-game injury report.
There was only one noteworthy injury during the win. Linebacker Justin Durant left the game with an elbow injury in the first half; Joplo Bartu replaced him and he never returned. Per Vaughn McClure, it was an elbow sprain, and Durant will have it reexamined on Thursday. Given that he was apparently available to reenter the game, Durant playing Sunday is a safe bet.
From an injury standpoint, the presence of Brooks Reed was notable. He was making his debut and returning from injury. To his credit, he held up surprisingly well over 15 snaps. Meanwhile, Julio Jones continues to play through his bum hamstring and Jake Matthews continues to act like his back doesn't hurt. These are men, y'all. Men.
