The Atlanta Falcons stumbled their way to a 6-1 today, narrowly avoiding their second loss. They were remarkably healthy going into the game, benefitting from a 10 day break following their loss to the division rival New Orleans Saints. But that would change quickly as there was several notable injuries in today's game. Let's break them down.
Leonard Hankerson was apparently dealing with a groin injury all week in practice. Hankerson left the game shortly after it started and was later seen on the sideline in a tracksuit. Nick Williams filled in admirably in his absence. I'll say this about Williams: the kid can get open. He may look a little awkward doing it, but Williams gets the job done. That said, this may be just the opportunity Justin Hardy has been waiting for.
William Moore injured his groin in the second half. Something tells me he could've played, because he was standing on the sideline with his helmet on for a long time. Maybe they kept him out just to be cautious. It's poor timing for Moore, an oft-injured veteran desperately needing to prove his continued relevance.
Julio Jones was banged up after incompletion, favoring his left arm. He may have simply tweaked something because it seemed to get better after a few plays. Cross your fingers, Falcons fans.
