NFL Wild Card Sunday 2015 Game Predictions

New, comments

Two more games on the docket for the NFL's first batch of playoff games, and The Falcoholic has predictions for both.

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday's games saw the Ravens and Panthers win, which was pretty much the opposite of what I wanted. The Football Gods are no longer answering my calls.

Today, I have less of an investment in the NFC game, and I think at least one of these games will truly come down to the wire.

On to the predictions.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Indianapolis Colts

I have a soft spot for the Bengals—one that was lessened by Week 2, but still—so you may want to take this prediction with a grain of salt. Still, I think the Bengals win.

The Colts are just kind of a mess. Their ground game is sort of inept, Andrew Luck is still prone to ugly turnovers and the defense comes and goes. The Bengals are prone to sloppy games themselves and will be without A.J. Green, but their defense can be opportunistic and that ground game is terrifying.

It'll be close, I predict, but it's the Bengals.

Prediction: Bengals, 27, Colts 24

Detroit Lions @ Dallas Cowboys

This game shouldn't be as close. The Lions have a terrific defense, but the Cowboys have had one of the league's better offenses in 2014 and a surprisingly effective D in their own right.

Everyone's going to head into the playoffs expecting a Tony Romo choke job, but this Cowboys team is talented enough to make a real run, and they can certainly get past Detroit.

Prediction: Cowboys 24, Lions 14
