Report: Falcons Will Retain Defensive Line Coach Bryan Cox

The pieces of the coaching staff continue to fall into place for likely hire Dan Quinn.

Bryan Cox, who was the undisputed star of Hard Knocks and the team's defensive line coach in 2014, will return to the Falcons in 2015.

Keeping Cox makes a ton of sense if the coach is Quinn, given that Cox was Quinn's assistant defensive line coach in 2007 and 2008 when both were in New York. It also gives the Falcons continuity along the defensive line, which was a mixed bag in 2014 along with the rest of the team. I don't think any of us know how good of a coach Cox actually is, but Quinn wanting to retain him is a good sign, and there's reason to believe his particular brand of hard-assed motivation will work well with Ra'Shede Hageman.

At the moment, the Falcons only truly need to find a handful of coaches, though Quinn could still choose to clear out staff when he finally arrives in Atlanta. We welcome back Cox. Do you?
