Falcons vs. Bengals: A Tweet Recap

The Falcons lost to the Bengals and it wasn't pretty.

Andy Lyons

These tweet recaps were initially born of the pain and agony that was watching the Falcons ineptly struggle their way through games last season, so at least that prepared us well for the tone of this week's tweet recap.

There were a lot of Falcons fans in Paul Brown stadium, which was fun to see.

Boy, did the defense ever look terrible.

Why do I fear this is going to be the motto of this season's defense?

The Falcons bent but didn't break, holding the Bengals to a field goal after a less-than-stellar defensive series.

If Andy Dalton weren't Andy Dalton and Mike Nugent hadn't completely imploded things would have been worse.

Meanwhile in Cleveland, the Saints were playing the Browns. Let's check in on how that was going for Saints fans.

It did seem like this might have been the game plan.

I wish.

Dear Falcons, please take this under advisement.

Surprise! /quiet sobbing

Hey, what's going on with the Saints?

The 2014 offensive line bore an uncanny resemblance to the 2013 offensive line.

With one notable exception.

One bright spot in an otherwise dismal day was Matt Ryan, once again, picking up yards with his legs.

We've gone over how rough things looked defensively. It wasn't much better on offense. It was actually about the same level of terrible.

Let's cling to this.

Speaking of, what's going on with the Saints?

I don't even know what this tweet was in reference to specifically so I'm going to assume it was intended to describe the entire game.

What's going on with the Saints, though?

Sadly, this did not happen.

If only it were this simple.

Great question.

I think we all have. Even Smitty, probably.

But, hey, it's not over until it's over, right?

Sometimes it's good to focus on the bright side.

Want a short and sweet recap of yesterday's game? Here you go.

In a just and decent world this would never be allowed to happen.

Let me reiterate how poorly things went on both sides of the ball.

It's time to focus on Tampa Bay, because I don't want to talk about the Bengals anymore.

What happened with the Saints game, though?

I wish I would have had this info before the game.
