Atlanta Falcons injury update: Julio Jones is probably fine, but Matt Ryan might hurt Lamar Holmes

Fact: Lamar Holmes owes Matt Ryan a back rub

Well that wasn't fun. But the good news is that the Falcons made it out of that game relatively healthy, notwithstanding all the chippy play in the fourth quarter. Just a few thoughts.

It's downright shocking Matt Ryan wasn't hurt, given how Lamar Holmes let him get hit today. To Holmes' credit, he form tackled Carlos Dunlap after Ryan got laid out late in the 4th quarter. Holmes drew a personal foul there, but he's got to play better. Take note, Mike Tice.

Joplo Bartu was replaced by Prince Shembo a couple times, but it wasn't clearly because of an injury. It likely the Falcons just like what Shembo brings to the table, and they are phasing him in accordingly. And while we're discussing non-injuries, let's acknowledge that Corey Peters held up well. He didn't seem too rusty, which is a good sign and ideally an indication of things to come.

Julio Jones was slow to get up on a fourth quarter play. It really just looked like he got the air knocked out of him. He picked up 8 yards his very next target in the very next drive. Take a deep breath, Falcons fans. Meanwhile, Harry Douglas went down hard in the 4th quarter as well, writhing in pain along the Bengals' sideline. He got off the field under his own power, but we'll have to see if he has any lasting effects.
