Falcons Practice Squad: Team Adds WR Freddie Martino, TE Kyle Miller

The team's 10 man practice squad is finished, at least for now.

The Atlanta Falcons have finalized their practice squad:26,

Martino has been with the Falcons all offseason long, and his brilliant touchdown catch against the Jaguars in preseason Week 4 may have earned him a slot on the squad. The rookie undrafted free agent stands 6 feet tall, 195 pounds and made just the one 67-yard catch this preseason, but looked like one of the more talented wide receivers in the UDFA crop, and certainly one of the more polished. We'll see if he can stick throughout the season, or if Geraldo Boldewijn's eventual return post-injury settlement knocks him off. The Falcons are carrying two receivers on the practice squad and Drew Davis will be eligible to return after Week 6, so there's a bit of depth should injury strike.

Miller, 26, appeared in one game for the Indianapolis Colts in 2012 and has been kicking around on practice squads and the waiver wire since. At 6'5" and 262 pounds, the former UDFA has good size and had a nice college career, but beyond that he's a bit of a cipher. We'll see if he can develop into something, but chances are good he'd simply be a backup, block-first guy if he ever hit the active roster.

Here's the full practice squad list:

  • Cornerback Ricardo Allen
  • Safety Sean Baker
  • Guard Harland Gunn
  • Tackle Terren Jones
  • Wide receiver Bernard Reedy
  • Defensive tackle Travian Robertson
  • Linebacker Jacques Smith
  • Running back Jerome Smith
  • Tight end Kyle Miller
  • Wide receiver Freddie Martino
