NFL Roster Cuts 2014: Falcons Cuts Tracker

The Falcons have 10 cuts left to make to finalize their 53 man roster.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

3:59 p.m. The Falcons have officially announced the cuts and the roster currently stands at 53. Terren Jones, Harland Gunn and Sean Baker round out the list.

3:56 p.m. Vaughn McClure has reported that Bernard Reedy has been waived. It looks like Eric Weems and Courtney Roby will round out the wide receiver position on the roster. McClure says that he expects Reedy to hit the practice squad if he clears waivers.

2:45 p.m. Tom Pelissero tells us that Geraldo Boldewijn has been waived/injured. An expected move, but still.

2:26 p.m. Per Tom Peliserro, the Falcons have also waived defensive tackle Travian Robertson. Robertson has practice squad eligibility under the new rules.

1:57 p.m. Per Tom Peliserro, the Falcons will cut fifth round pick Ricardo Allen. Likely practice squad candidate if he clears waivers.

12:36 p.m. Vaughn McClure is reporting that undrafted free agent outside linebacker Jacques Smith has been waived by the Falcons. Smith is a viable candidate for the practice squad if he clears waivers.

11:36 a.m. News of the final cuts is starting to roll in. Per ESPN's Vaughn McClure, wide receiver Jeremy Ebert has been cut by the Falcons. Ebert showed some flashes of great potential during preseason, but the Falcons are pretty crowded at receiver. This one isn't a surprise.

McClure also reported that the Falcons have waived tight end Mickey Shuler.

As anticipated, yesterday's round of cuts didn't contain many surprises. Today's just might.

The Falcons have until 4 p.m. to cut another 10 players, with several of those players having the potential to hit the practice squad starting Sunday. The team will also be free to sign players who have signed waivers, so even making the final roster isn't a guarantee for the guys on the back end of the depth chart.

Again, there may be a couple of longtime veterans or promising UDFAs who find themselves out of work before the end of the day, so brace yourselves for that outcome.

Stay tuned for more cuts today, and use this as your discussion thread. We'll see if we get them all in one batch or not.

Oh, and here's our final 53 man projection, one more time. Adjusted to fit the reality that Pat Angerer is not on this football team.
