Julio Jones recently made the bold claim that the Falcons have the best receiving duo in the NFL. He's not wrong, not at all. I believe that, and per the AJC's D. Orlando Ledbetter, so does the Arizona Cardinals' Patrick Peterson.
“The best duo in the NFL, I’d probably have to say that’s pretty accurate,” Peterson said. “Both of those guys are Pro Bowl caliber receivers, both of them are All-Pro caliber receivers. Both of them do a lot of good things for Matt Ryan to make his job a little easier. But to say they are the best tandem, I’d probably have to say that he’s probably right.”
Peterson has game. He had a 9.6 overall PFF rating, 14th in the league, last season. In 2013, he had a 9.0 rating, 18th in the league. Fancy, advanced statistics aside, he's universally known as one of the best corner backs in the league. In short, his opinion means something. He's well-equipped to pass judgment on the league's wide receivers, and inasmuch as he can (i.e., without sounding like some kind of fan boy), that's what he's doing here.
