Week 8 2014 @ Wembley

So week 8 of the 2014 season will see Atlanta host Detroit at the international series in Wembley, London. These events have gathered momentum of the past few years, with tickets selling out very quickly. NFL Europe run fantastic events to compliment the game including a 'fan rally' in London's famous Trafalgar Square on the Saturday and a 'Tailgate' area outside the stadium on game day.

Obviously of the 90,000 tickets sold we can't possibly hope for a 50/50 split between Atlanta and Detroit fans but I do hope we will have a good following all the same. I've not been lucky enough to travel to any of the previous games held here but I'm told the atmosphere is amazing, with players describing it as most similar to a Super Bowl atmosphere - I can only imagine this is due to all of the fans there (regardless of team alliance) being so excited about getting a chance to watch some ball without staying up through the night to catch it on TV.

I for one, am ridiculously excited about the chance to see the Falcons play live and hope one day to get the chance to fly to Atlanta for a home game - ideally against NO.

Since the fan map was posted a couple of days ago, I'm really interested to see how many of those people from UK and Europe are planning to attend the game? Also, if there are many people planning to make the long trip from the USA?

Look forward to hearing from you all.
