2014 Atlanta Falcons NFL Draft Live Blog - Day 1
11:45 p.m. - The Vikings make Teddy Bridgewater the last pick of the first round. The Falcons are back on the clock tomorrow.
11:32 p.m.- Falcons don't get a shot at Jimmie Ward, either.
11:20 p.m.- Deone Bucannon goes to Arizona, while the Panthers select Kelvin Benjamin. No reason to be nervous about free safety.
10:58 p.m. - Dee Ford is off the board. The Falcons may still be trying to move up, but Ford was their dude.
10:42 p.m. - The Cleveland Browns move up to #22 to pick Johnny Manziel. Good luck in Cleveland, Johnny Furtball.
10:20 p.m. - After a run that Falcons fans weren't likely to care too deeply about, the Saints have traded up to #20 to take...Brandin Cooks, one of the best receivers of the draft class. Not the pick I expected.
9:37 p.m. - We're back! Aaron Donald to the Rams, who are having a fine draft in the trenches.
8:58 p.m. - The Buccaneers pick Mike Evans, because Josh McCown is a stellar quarterback.
Seriously, though, he could be great for them.
8:52 p.m. - Before I got trade up fever, I believed Jake Matthews would be the pick at #6. Here it is! Matthews to the Atlanta Falcons.
8:43 p.m. - Khalil Mack to the Oakland Raiders. The Falcons are looking at Taylor Lewan, Jake Matthews or a trade down.
8:35 p.m. - The Cleveland Browns traded the #4 to the Buffalo Bills, and the Bills pick Sammy Watkins!
8:31 p.m. -The Jaguars deliver the first surprise of the 2014 NFL Draft, selecting QB Blake Bortles with the #3 overall pick. If everything breaks right, he might be great, but this is a mild surprise.
8:29 p.m. -Texans go Clowney, St. Louis goes for Greg Robinson. Two very good picks to start off the draft.
8:13 p.m. - It's official:
Falcons not trading to first pick. They moved on before draft commenced.

8:02 p.m. - We are underway!
6:35 p.m. - As you've probably heard, Thomas Dimitroff is saying it's unlikely the Falcons will go up to #1:
#Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff tells @RichOnSports it's "highly unlikely" that Falcons will trade up to 1. My take: Focus in on No. 4.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 8, 2014
Two NFL people who know #Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff well expressed doubt he would meet #Texans demands for No. 1 overall pick. Depth needed
