Flush with cornerback talent, the Falcons are still hosting Justin Gilbert this week

Fact: Justin Gilbert thinks you're a loser. Loser.

Pre-draft workouts are fun! Why? Because generally speaking, you know at least a few of these players will be drafted by the Falcons. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, and corner back Justin Gilbert may be one such exception.

The Falcons obviously are doing their homework on all scenarios, although securing offensive line help, a pass-rusher and a safety would appear to be the priorities. The team seems set at cornerback with second-year players Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford looking like the starting corners for the future. But head coach Mike Smith has emphasized the need for the extra defensive backs in today's NFL, with so many teams running multiple-receiver sets.

There's no doubting Gilbert's talent. A trio of him, Robert Alford, and Desmond Trufant would be dynamic, to say the least. They'd also be tested a lot, because absent some pass rushing depth, opposing quarterbacks will continue to feast on the Falcons' secondary.

Simply stated, there's no way corner back is a priority for the Falcons in the first round. I get the need to entertain all your options, but this is as close to a non-option as it gets. What gives?
