Falcons Cut CB Saeed Lee, TE Adam Nissley

Offseason housekeeping, more than likely, but a signing may be coming.

Scott Cunningham

The Falcons have cut ties with a pair of young players today:

Neither of these signings are going to send massive shockwaves through the roster. Lee had some promise as a young cornerback, but he was still working his way back from an injury suffered last June and the Falcons have signed Josh Wilson and Javier Arenas this offseason and it was going to be difficult for him to crack the roster in any context. We never did find out exactly what the injury was. This gives him a chance to catch on with another team, and we wish him well.

Nissley has been around longer, having spent parts of three seasons with the Falcons but never appearing in a regular season game. He had the size to be a useful asset as a blocking tight end, but if you're getting cut now when the Falcons basically just have Levine Toilolo on the roster, it's pretty clear you're not part of the team's long-term plans. We wish him well, as well.
