The Atlanta Falcons newest player is a former first round pick. The team announced on Monday that they signed free agent offensive tackle Gabe Carimi, who was selected by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
It's a one-year contract, according to reports.
By accounts of previous coaches, Carimi has the versatility to play LT, RT and OG. He's listed as 6-foot-7, 316. #RiseUp

Make no mistake, Gabe Carimi's signing has Mike Tice's fingerprints all over it. Huge bust to this point, but a worthy gamble.

Carimi, who went to Wisconsin, lasted two seasons in Chicago before the Bears traded him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last offseason. Carimi found himself as a free agent last week when the Buccaneers released him.
Carimi, listed at 6'7 and 316 pounds, has started 19 games in his career.
