One week from now, prospects will be weighed, forced to run 40 yard dashes and subjected to grueling weight-lifting sessions. Scouts will say borderline creepy things about them, and we'll all come away with a better idea of how the 2014 NFL Draft is going to go, at least in theory.
The Combine is a great opportunity to see the raw athleticism, size and strength some of these players have. There's always the danger of putting too much stock into workouts, but certainly it helps teams separate players who may have had comparable college careers by their raw physical ability, which can be mighty useful.
Here's the full workout schedule from NFL.com:
» Saturday, Feb. 22: Tight ends, offensive linemen, special teams
» Sunday, Feb. 23: Quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers
» Monday, Feb. 24: Defensive linemen, linebackers
» Tuesday, Feb. 25: Defensive backs
Which prospects will you be watching closely when the Combine begins?
