2013 was a season to forget. From the 4-12 record to the underwhelming conclusion of Tony Gonzalez's Hall of Fame career, I was over it about half way through it. I'm sure many of you felt the same way.
Moving on to 2014, it's important to acknowledge some of the successes in 2013. We've done that, at least in part, since week 17 came to a close. And believe it or not, there were some successes.
First, the Falcons infused their defense with young players. Ask Asante Samuel whether Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford have a bright future, if you don't believe me. And while the linebacking corps still doesn't have ideal depth, Joplo Bartu and Paul Worrilow were steals as undrafted free agents. Malliciah Goodman also has the potential to feature heavily in the Falcons' defensive end rotation.
Second, Matt Ryan didn't lose any limbs.
Third ... there is no third.
So what say you all? What was the biggest success of the 2013 season?
