Falcons Place Injured William Moore On Injured Reserve

Kemal Ishmael will be the full-time starter at strong safety once more.

The Falcons lost William Moore for much of the year, and unfortunately his returns from injured reserve didn't last long.

Moore has been a team leader and an effective player throughout his career in Atlanta, but this season has been a series of unmitigated disasters for him, as he's played in just seven games in total. Now that he's been placed on injured reserve, Kemal Ishmael will return to the full-time starting strong safety role. He's clearly the lesser player in coverage, but Call Me hits like a ton of bricks driving a tank and he's been responsible for several turnovers thus far in 2014, so we'll hope he can keep the good times rolling.

Baker had a short stint with the team earlier in the season and will likely be limited to special teams duties if he's active on game days. Dezmen Southward is the third safety, and we could see Charles Godfrey active and contributing this weekend against his former team, the Carolina Panthers.

To fill Baker's spot on the practice squad, the Falcons signed running back Ronnie Wingo. He started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent for Atlanta in 2013, and he'll return in hopes of sticking around in 2015, when the Falcons' running back depth chart thins out.

We hope for a swift recovery for Moore, and an uninjured 2015 season to follow. Your thoughts?
