Falcons Injury Report: Julio Jones, Roddy White DNP

Several key players, including Julio Jones, were not able to participate in Wednesday's practice.

If you were hoping for progress for Julio Jones or William Moore on today's injury report, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Both Jones and Moore remained sidelined on Wednesday. Jones is dealing with a hip injury suffered late in the Green Bay game, and William Moore is battling an ankle injury that also occurred against Green Bay. Both Jones and Moore were unable to play last Sunday against the Steelers, and their absence was felt. ESPN's Vaughn McClure says that Mike Smith does not plan to continue answering questions about Julio's injury status this week, and identifies Jones as a game-time decision.

The rest of the injury report is equally troubling. Right guard Jonathan Asamoah, who injured his back on Sunday against Pittsburgh, did not participate in practice. Roddy White was sidelined on Wednesday with a knee injury, and if it's not enough for the Falcons' top two receivers to be dealing with injuries, Harry Douglas, still dealing with a foot injury, was also held out of Wednesday's practice.

In light of the team placing cornerback Robert Alford on IR earlier this week, the fact that Josh Wilson, who suffered a hand injury in Sunday's game, is listed as a full participant on the official injury report released by the team is the one bright spot on an otherwise dismal injury report. However, Vaughn McClure says that Wilson was limited on Wednesday, so maybe that news isn't as good as it seems.

It is early in the week, and being held out of practice on Wednesday isn't necessarily an indication that all of these players will not be ready to go by Sunday. We'll know much more after seeing the injury reports tomorrow and Friday.

What are your expectations for these players on Sunday?
