The Atlanta Falcons haven't done well in any NFL power rankings this season. It's been a bit of a roller coaster, but generally speaking, they've lived towards the bottom. But somehow they're in a position to dictate their future. These are the days of our lives.
In this week's edition of the SB Nation power rankings, the Falcons fell to 25th, down from 22nd last week. It's an understandable drop, one that puts us in lackluster company. The Patriots now lead these power rankings, while the Titans, at 2-12, still hold the 32nd spot. Here are the teams surrounding us:
These rankings have the Panthers and Saints at 20th and 21st respectively. In defense of the Falcons, it's hard to argue convincingly that either team, at least at this point, is better than the Falcons. That makes these next two weeks pretty exciting, if you think about it. In essence, the Falcons playoff run began yesterday when the Saints dismantled a very bad Bears team. From here on out, it's win or go home. I can live with that.
