Robert Alford Injury: Cornerback Is Out For Week 15, Julio Jones Misses Practice Again

The Falcons could be without a couple of key players when they square off against the Steelers this weekend.

Injuries have been a fact of life for the Falcons in 2014, and that's not showing any signs of changing.

None of this is inspiring news. Robert Alford's continued absence means the Falcons will muddle through at cornerback yet again, likely starting Robert McClain outside. McClain has been abysmal in coverage thus far, while Josh Wilson has fared a bit better in the nickel. Javier Arenas barely gets on the field, even though the team essentially only has four healthy cornerbacks.

Mike Smith said he's optimistic that Julio Jones and William Moore will play and both will be listed as game-time decisions, but he's said that numerous times in 2014 about players who wound up sitting out, so we'll take that with a healthy grain of salt. If Moore can't go and the Falcons are down Alford, chances are good you'll see Charles Godfrey active to give the team a little more depth in the secondary. If Julio can't go, the Falcons will lean heavily on Roddy White and Harry Douglas in what figures to a high-volume passing attack against a middling Steelers secondary.

Do you think Moore and/or Julio will play Sunday?
