Falcons Week 10 Injury Report, News & Notes for Thursday

New, comments

A roundup of what's happening today in Flowery Branch.

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons are marching toward that Sunday matchup against the Buccaneers, a battle between two teams that are clinging to remote playoff hopes and desperately need a win to keep those dreams alive. It should be much more competitive than the last two times these teams squared off.

I've collected a few notes from today to share with you. Jeanna will have a much more detailed write-up tomorrow, so keep your eyes open for that. Here's the notes.

  • The injury report is identical to yesterday. The good news is this:
  • Jonathan Babineaux, Antone Smith, Harry Douglas and Jonathan Massaquoi were all limited. All four should be good to go for Sunday, though I'd keep a closer eye on Babineaux's status because he's a little bit older and is dealing with a foot injury. Mike Smith had a conversation with Ra'Shede Hageman about Instaweedgate, but keeping with his custom, he didn't reveal any specifics to the assembled reporters. Gonna guess it was not a fun, friendly conversation about the merits of Instagram, either way.
  • Looks like the practice schedule is changing, something that typically happens around mid-season in Atlanta. Roddy and Smitty both spoke of it ensuring the team has walk-throughs and practices back to back, hopefully helping the team build strength and endurance for the stretch run.

Why don't the Falcons do this all year long, you ask? Jeanna Thomas will have the answer tomorrow.
  • Vaughn McClure shares the uncool tidbit that Matt Ryan, while 9-4 against the Buccaneers, also has a 6/8 TD/INT ratio when he's playing in Tampa. Not a great omen, but hopefully one that won't wind up meaning anything Sunday.
Game's just a few days away, folks. What are your expectations?
