The Falcons put a final nail in the Buccaneers' coffin last Sunday, and they can do something similar to the Carolina Panthers this weekend.
That's not to say that a 3-7-1 record precludes winning the NFC South—we know how weak the division is—but it certainly would make life exceedingly difficult for a team with major problems along the offensive line, in the receiving corps and on defense. On the flip side of that, a 3-7 Falcons team would also be in considerable trouble, given how difficult some of the games on the upcoming schedule promise to be. If you harbor any grand ideas about a playoff berth, as both these teams do, you have to consider this a must-win game.
Either way, it's likely to be the latest entertaining chapter in the ongoing and epic battle for the NFC South, which in 2014 resembles four toddlers armed with feathers vying for a spot on a beanbag chair.
