With rookie Freddie Martino getting the call up to the active roster, the Falcons have a void in their practice squad that yearned to be filled. Enter Ryan Spadola:

Spadola, 23, went undrafted out of Lehigh in 2013. He's previously spent time with the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, and had one hell of a preseason game for the Jets, reeling in three catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. After being released by the Jets, he actually spent some time on the Dolphins' active roster, but did not have any catches.
Spadola's stay in Atlanta isn't likely to be a long one, given that Drew Davis is returning and Freddie Martino will likely wind up back on the practice squad once he's good to go. Welcome him regardless.
