Falcons vs. Lions: Game time, TV schedule, channel, prediction and odds

The 2-5 Atlanta Falcons "host" the 5-2 Detroit Lions in Wembley Stadium in London this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. EST.

Charlie Crowhurst

The Falcons will seek to end a four game skid in an ostensible home game against the Detroit Lions, one that will be played in massive Wembley Stadium in London. For this to even slightly resemble a Falcons home game, we'll have to hope every Falcons fan in Europe shows up loud and lusty.

The stakes here are fairly obvious. The Falcons are playing a game in front of the world here, they're currently struggling at 2-5 and Mike Smith's job could be imperiled already, to say nothing of a scenario in which his teams gets blown out in London. I'm not optimistic about his changes of surviving past this season, regardless, but the Falcons are still within reach of the division, and they're certainly going to play as if that's still a realistic possibility. There are potentially quite a lot of jobs on the line.

The Falcons get a Lions' offense that has been unusually anemic thus far in 2014, but a defense that has been borderline dominant. It's a tough recipe for a team facing offensive line troubles, but with so much at stake and some slight but important improvements on defense a week ago, I hope they'll pull it off.

Here's all the information you'll need to know.
