Falcons Snaps Counts For Week 7 vs. Ravens

Time to look at the snap counts after a 29-7 loss.

Mitchell Layton

The Falcons went into Baltimore, got creamed and immediately boarded a plane for London. It's up to us to sift through the wreckage for things like snap counts, and thus we shall.

OffenseJon Asamoah: 66 (100%)

Gabe Carimi: 66
Jake Matthews: 66
Justin Blalock: 66
Matt Ryan: 66
Levine Toilolo: 64
Roddy White: 62
James Stone: 56
Julio Jones: 56
Devin Hester: 37
Steven Jackson: 25
Eric Weems: 18
Devonta Freeman: 16
Jacquizz Rodgers: 15
Antone Smith: 10
Patrick DiMarco: 10
Ryan Schraeder: 10
Peter Konz: 10
Bear Pascoe: 5
Freddie Martino: 2

Devonta Freeman finally out-snapped Jacquizz Rogers, by a single snap. Freddie Martino got on the field for two snaps. Ryan Schraeder was on the field as an extra blocker for parts of this game, but nothing the Falcons were throwing as their blocking problem appeared to be helping all that much.

Guess what? Antone Smith only got 10 snaps, once again. He was less effective in this one than usual, with just 13 yards on four touches, but we'll beat that drum regardless.

Defense

Paul Worrilow: 67 (100%)
Kemal Ishmael: 67
Desmond Trufant: 67
Dwight Lowery: 67
Robert Alford: 62
Kroy Biermann: 59
Joplo Bartu: 58
Jonathan Massaquoi: 51
Paul Soliai: 41
Tyson Jackson: 36
Jonathan Babineaux: 36
Corey Peters: 32
Malliciah Goodman: 29
Josh Wilson: 19
Ra'Shede Hageman: 18
Osi Umenyiora: 15
Dezmen Southward: 9
Stansly Maponga: 3
Prince Shembo: 1

Prince Shembo's either hurt or firmly in the doghouse for reasons that are not immediately evident. I'm a Joplo Bartu fan and I still think he'll be a useful reserve, at minimum, but he simply hasn't played well in his opportunities. Jonathan Massaquoi got a season-high share of the snaps and was inarguably the team's best defensive player on Sunday, followed closely by Desmond Trufant. Robert Alford had a better game this week. Snap shares for Babineaux, Goodman, and Osi decreased as Mass and Biermann went up.

Special Teams

Sean Baker: 18
Nate Stupar: 17
Eric Weems: 17
Antone Smith: 17
Josh Wilson: 14
Dezmen Southward: 13
Patrick DiMarco: 12
Robert McClain: 12
Stansly Maponga: 11
Matt Bosher: 10
Jacquizz Rogers: 10
Devin Hester: 9
Jonathan Massaquoi: 8
Josh Harris: 7
Robert Alford: 7
Ryan Schraeder: 7
Tyson Jackson: 7
Levine Toilolo: 5
Paul Worrilow: 5
Kemal Ishmael: 5
Kroy Biermann: 5
Corey Peters: 5
Ra'Shede Hageman: 5
Joplo Bartu: 5
Matt Bryant: 2

No surprises here, except Shembo not getting any special teams snaps. Dezmen Southward continues to be a core special teamer, which will help him this year and next.
