The Falcons are stumbling and tumbling at the moment, something we all hope will turn around before it gets too late in the season for a meaningful rally. What that means for NFL power rankings is about what you would expect.
SB Nation has the Falcons at 24th, just behind the Dolphins and just ahead of the Minnesota Vikings. You'd like to quibble with the Dolphins ranking because that team is a tire fire, but they did play the Packers close this week, so we are where we are.
This is about where the Falcons currently belong, given the state of play. My sincere hope is that the swirling talk of the coaching staff on the hot seat and the team's terrible streak will mean they've bottomed out and we'll see a return to respectability and a corresponding rise up the power rankings. Keeping hope alive in Week 7 is always a good decision, after all.
