Falcons Will Be Scouting Lines Heavily In 2014 Senior Bowl

The Senior Bowl is this weekend. Discuss it.

The Falcons are getting an up-close look at Senior Bowl prospects, which is an awesome opportunity to work with and scout players for the entire coaching staff. While they're likely interested in a couple of dozen players from 2014 Senior Bowl North and South teams, there's at least two players they're already keying in on, per Vaughn McClure:

Murphy is a hulking senior linebacker/defensive end type who had 14 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss at Stanford last season. He would fit a need for the Falcons as a pass rusher, obviously, and seems more than capable of holding his own against the run. It's possible he'll be available in the early second round, so if the Falcons go offensive line with their first pick, consider him a strong possibility.

Martin is an interesting case. The Notre Dame left tackle would obviously like to stick at the position in the pros, but many are projecting him to be a useful guard in the NFL. He's a potential first round pick, though, so the Falcons may not have a shot at him unless they move down. By all accounts, he's a solid athlete and a senior captain, so he would seem to fit the Falcons nicely.
