2014 NFL Playoff Schedule: A Breakdown of the Divisional Round

A breakdown of all four games this weekend.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons are long gone, but the playoffs roll on. The divisional round brings a promising slate of games for the discerning viewer, as well.

Here's the 2014 NFL playoff schedule for this weekend:

Saturday, January 11

#6 New Orleans Saints vs. #1 Seattle Seahawks

Game time: 4:35 p.m.

TV Channel: FOX

Odds: Seahawks (-7.5)

Expectations: The Saints will give them a game, but I expect the Seahawks to roll at home by coming up with turnovers. I'll predict a 27-21 Seahawks victory.

#4 Indianapolis Colts vs. #2 New England Patriots

Game time: 8:15 p.m.

TV Channel: CBS

Odds: Patriots (-7)

Expectations: Everyone's taking the Colts too lightly. This is the shell of a great Patriots team, but the Colts can sling the football and a couple of recovered fumbles or interceptions would be enough to get them the win. I've got the Colts in a shootout, 38-35.

Sunday, January 12

#5 San Francisco 49ers vs. #2 Carolina Panthers

Game time: 1:05 p.m.

TV Channel: FOX

Odds: 49ers (-1)

Expectations: I hate to say it, but the Panthers are a very good football team. They've got home-field advantage and appear well-suited to playing the 49ers. I think they walk away with an ugly 20-14 win.

#6 San Diego Chargers vs. #1 Denver Broncos

Game time: 4:40 p.m.

TV Channel: CBS

Odds: Broncos (-9)

Expectations: Am I going to pick both AFC favorites to lose? Yes. The Chargers will do just enough to squeak out a 28-27 win.
