The Falcons made a couple of moves for the Patriots game, sitting down Lamar Holmes and Stephen Nicholas in favor of a Sam Baker/Jeremy Trueblood combo and Paul Worrilow. Injury ensured that didn't last.
Lamar Holmes was benched in favor of a Sam Baker/Jeremy Trueblood duo at left and right tackle. When Baker left the game with an injury, Holmes was right back in at left tackle. I thought he did much better than a week ago, though he was far from excellent out there.
Considering Sam Baker had two penalties and allowed multiple pressures before he left, though, it wasn't a significant downgrade. Baker might be out a while after this one, but stay tuned for the full report. Obviously Holmes and Trueblood would be the bookends if he misses any time.
Nicholas, meanwhile, rejoined the game because Paul Worrilow left with an injury. Stephen Nicholas wound up replacing him on the field. Even when the Falcons show a willingness to shake things up, it doesn't stick.
The Falcons are looking for answers right now and can't seem to find any. Just hope this team is as healthy as possible for the game against the Jets coming up, because they need some hope right now.
