In the updated injury report released by the Atlanta Falcons Thursday afternoon, wide receiver Roddy White (ankle), defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (knee) and left tackle Sam Baker (knee) are all still listed as being held out of today's practice. Julio Jones, who carried the Did Not Participate designation yesterday because of a knee injury, did participate in today's practice, albeit in a limited context.
Cornerback Asante Samuel was again limited with a thigh injury, and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon maintained his limited status due to a knee injury. Free safety Thomas DeCoud (knee), defensive tackle Peria Jerry (knee) and defensive end Cliff Matthews (neck) were all upgraded from limited to full participation in practice today.
It's particularly encouraging to see that Julio Jones participated in practice today, even though he was limited. It's also a positive that Thomas DeCoud and Peria Jerry both participated fully after being limited yesterday. Jerry may be called upon to contribute more this week against the Rams, depending on the severity of the knee injury that is keeping Babineaux out of practice currently.
The Rams' injury report Thursday afternoon had a couple of changes. Safety Darian Stewart remained on the did not participate list, while cornerback Quinton Pointer was held out of practice with a thigh injury, after being listed as limited on Wednesday. Running back Daryl Richardson was upgraded to limited participation after being held out of practice Wednesday with a foot injury, and defensive end Chris Long joined him on the list, limited with a hip injury. Tight end Corey Harkey was a full participant with a knee injury.
