Falcons "Hope" Roddy White Will Be Ready for Week One

Per D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Thomas Dimitroff hopes Roddy White's ankle will be sufficiently healed to play week one against the New Orleans Saints.

USA TODAY Sports

We're all eager to see Roddy White back on the field following the ankle injury he suffered in preseason action against the Baltimore Ravens, and Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff is no different. According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Dimitroff "hopes" White will be ready to start week one against the New Orleans Saints.

While the choice of words doesn't exactly inspire confidence--certainly, we would prefer to hear that Dimitroff "expects" that White will be ready by week one of the regular season--keep in mind that Roddy White doesn't miss much time due to injury. Also, the injury, which was termed a low ankle sprain, was suffered nearly two weeks ago, and the regular season kicks off for the Falcons in about one and a half weeks, giving White over three weeks of recovery time, which should be adequate.

Are you worried about Roddy White's ankle at this point, or do you think he will definitely be ready to go by week one? Discuss!
