Engineering A Scouting Report For The Falcons Offense

If you're an opponent, how do you shut down the Falcon offense?

USA TODAY Sports

This is Dave Choate's latest mini series of posts on the Atlanta Falcons in 2013. This time, breaking down weaknesses of the Falcons offense.

The Atlanta Falcons are an offensively talented football team. Few teams in the NFL today can match what they bring to bear between Matt Ryan, Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez and now Steven Jackson. It's an offense built to hang 30+ points on most defenses, and to furiously rally if things get rough.

It's not a perfect offense, however, and that's where we come to today's discussion. If you were a team gameplanning to beat the Falcons, how would you slow the offense down enough to keep you in the game? Do you take S-Jax out and force the Falcons to beat you through the air? Do you do your damndest to take the pass away and dare Jackson to beat you? Do you use your freeze ray?

Give us your scouting reports, ladies and gents.
