The Falcons released their 2013 preseason schedule Thursday afternoon. Atlanta will open the preseason at the Georgia Dome in a nationally televised game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
We won't know the Falcons regular season schedule until later this month. The NFL is expected to release that news on April 16. For now, though, take a look at the preseason overview.
Date | Time | Opponent | Where to watch? |
Aug. 8 | 8 p.m. | vs. Cincinnati Bengals | ESPN |
Aug. 15-19 | TBD | at Baltimore Ravens | CBS Atlanta |
Aug. 22-26 | TBD | at Tennessee Titans | CBS Atlanta |
Aug. 29 | TBD | vs. Jacksonville Jaguars | CBS Atlanta |
No, the second and third matchups are not five-game series. Sorry, folks. The exact dates of those games have yet to be determined. We'll get to see the team on the national stage for the first week of preseason. Hopefully Julio Jones catches six passes for 109 yards and a touchdown again (see: last year's first box score).
This will be the third consecutive year the Falcons face the Jaguars in preseason play. It's the second straight year they'll see the Ravens. These are familiar opponents for this time of year. Jay Adams was kind enough to break down the overall preseason records against these teams.
How's everyone feeling about the schedule?
Why are you complaining? You MIGHT get to see Blaine Gabbert! MT @joshmassey1: Unreal. Ravens/Jags on Falcons preseason sked AGAIN.
