We've been talking about the draft ad nauseum around these parts. And why not? It's an exciting time. But I'm going to change gears, just for a second, because I found some interesting numbers that shouldn't go unnoticed.
If you're not inclined to read the article linked above, let me break it down for you. Quizz broke 26 tackles last year, 10th most in the league. He did that in only 94 carries and 53 receptions (147) touches). Of the 9 running backs who broke more tackles than him, only Jonathan Dwyer (174 touches) had less than 200 carries. His 17.7 percent broken tackle/touch ratio was the 2nd best in the league. Holy broken tackle Batman.
For what it's worth, Michael Turner didn't even manage 20 broken tackles last year. No knock on the man, I truly appreciate his contributions. But if anything, this has to reassure the masses. Quizz is a bowling ball of a man, and he will do just fine as the feature back if needed. Did I mention that Steven Jackson is on this team?
