The Falcons' 24 undrafted free agent acquisitions and 8 drafted players will get their first taste of pro ball this weekend. Huzzah! Rookie mini-camp starts Friday and runs through Sunday. While mini-camps are nothing more than collective bargaining agreement-regulated, non-contact orientations, it will be nice to see the young fellas running around a bit.
I don't expect that we will learn much in just three days. Arguably talent assessment in the NFL is constant, but at this point, we're just trying to get them oriented. That said, let's be honest, this isn't your 2013 Atlanta Falcons. Not even close. Less than a third of them will actually make the team, and most of them will never play in the NFL period.
If anything, I'm looking forward to OTAs at the end of May and beginning of June. Specifically May 28th-30th, June 4th-6th, and June 11th-14th. That's when the shenanigans really pop off.
Your thoughts?
