It seems like I'm always writing about the new stadium. To be frank, it's deliberate. I'm doing it on purpose, because I'm in support of the new construction. That's why I'm always stumbling on random articles about the multi-step process. Vishnu wants it that way. And make no mistake, it is a multi-step process.
Besides being a home for the Falcons, the Atlanta stadium will be used for other sports, conventions and entertainment events. The 68,000-seat stadium may be expandable up to 80,000 seats for major events such as the Super Bowl.
For what it's worth, the Dome seats 71,228. Thew new stadium will, under normal circumstances, seat more than 3,000 less than that. But alas, there's this extra seats option. I don't know about y'all, but I think it's pretty freaking cool. It will certainly make us a Super Bowl host contender. To that effect, how cool would it be to host a Super Bowl we're playing in. It could happen.
