Falcons vs. Buccaneers: a Tweet Recap

Losing to the Bucs was terrible, and the tweets from the game reflect that.

Al Messerschmidt

Boy, that game was terrible. There's really not much else to say about it.

There was some optimism at the start of the game. The coaching staff made some personnel changes along the offensive line, they won the coin toss and deferred. They ran the ball pretty effectively at the beginning of the game. Who were these Falcons taking the field against the Bucs?

Also, the Falcons were playing the Bucs, a team that had one less win than the Falcons over the course of the season. The Bucs, as a matter of fact, locked up that very first win just last week against the Miami Dolphins. The Bucs have had nothing but drama all season, on the field, and off it, and the Falcons had already beaten the Bucs this season. The Falcons surely had to beat the Bucs. It really wasn't asking too much.

That optimism was short-lived, though, because despite moving personnel around, the offensive line continued to be absolutely terrible.

Paul Worrilow's development as a linebacker continues to be a bright spot in an abysmally dark season.

Matt Bryant and Matt Bosher are pretty great, too.

Greg Schiano thinks he's Sean Payton or something.

These are all legitimate questions.

Fans have different ways of coping.

Halftime speeches, anyone?

Some fans try to stay positive even though it's extremely difficult.

Okay now, let's not get too crazy.

Dating tips: if you're interested in a Falcons fan, don't text her and ask her what's wrong with her team. You're welcome.

Or maybe we should all file a class action suit. Matt Ryan probably wants in on it.

Let's just say DeCoud is not a fan favorite. He's probably not a coach favorite, either, as he was benched yesterday in favor of rookie 7th rounder Zeke Motta.

Of course Dominique Davis got hurt when he went in to relieve Matt Ryan because the game was entirely out of reach.

Truer words were never spoken.

Not in a good way, I might add.

Um, what?

Many of the tweets from the game were an amalgam of sadness, depression and rage.

How does yesterday's loss impact the Falcons' BCS standing?

Maybe the Falcons really do know what they're doing here.

Hey, let's talk about the draft!

Jason Kirk should maybe be in charge of all personnel decisions.

Eh, close enough.

This is a tweet from a Bucs fan, y'all. A BUCS FAN.

Don't get your hopes up, Bucs fans. The 2013 Falcons make every team look that good.

If there's one positive to take away from this tweet recap, this is it.

Yeah, it sure is.
