Boy, that game was terrible. There's really not much else to say about it.
There was some optimism at the start of the game. The coaching staff made some personnel changes along the offensive line, they won the coin toss and deferred. They ran the ball pretty effectively at the beginning of the game. Who were these Falcons taking the field against the Bucs?
Falcons have won the toss, and they've deferred. Matt Bosher teeing this one up. Are you ready to RISE UP? #ATLvsTB
— Atlanta_Falcons (@Atlanta_Falcons) November 17, 2013
Joe Hawley is starting at center. Peter Konz has been moved to right guard. #ATLvsTB
— Jay Adams (@FalconsJAdams) November 17, 2013
A noble sacrifice. RT @A_Sick_Serenade SJax is guaranteed to have a huge game. I finally benched him on my fantasy team. You're welcome.
— The Falcoholic (@TheFalcoholic) November 17, 2013
Steven Jackson is finally looking like Steven Jackson. #ATLvsTB
— Alex (@fusionstyle) November 17, 2013
Also, the Falcons were playing the Bucs, a team that had one less win than the Falcons over the course of the season. The Bucs, as a matter of fact, locked up that very first win just last week against the Miami Dolphins. The Bucs have had nothing but drama all season, on the field, and off it, and the Falcons had already beaten the Bucs this season. The Falcons surely had to beat the Bucs. It really wasn't asking too much.
Time for these @Atlanta_Falcons to Rise Up. If we don't beat anyone else, we should definitely beat @TBBuccaneers. #RiseUp #ATLvsTB #Falcons
— Chambway (@chambway) November 17, 2013
That optimism was short-lived, though, because despite moving personnel around, the offensive line continued to be absolutely terrible.
Man, did we leave the o-line on the bus? If not, can we put the o-line back on the bus? #ATLvsTB
— Joshua Darnell (@JLDinGeorgia) November 17, 2013
— Matt (@FalconsM5) November 17, 2013
Coaching won't n can't help Peter Knoz right now. Had help from Hawley but McCoy just overpowered him. It's up to him to decide. #ATLvsTB
— Alge Crumpler (@Alge_Crumpler) November 17, 2013
Paul Worrilow's development as a linebacker continues to be a bright spot in an abysmally dark season.
Mom&Dad and our 1996 go-to all-time neighborhood QB @rxgibson repping the namesake well! #RiseUp pic.twitter.com/Lo7pg0zWBt
— Eddie Worrilow (@eddieworrilow) November 17, 2013
I'm about to go Worrilow on these idiots clogging my twitter feed telling me how to get new followers #ATLvsTB
— Cory Kurtz (@ckurtz32) November 17, 2013
Me three! RT @jeannathomas: Me too. RT @FalconsMorgan: I'm team #Worrilow. All day, every day. #ATLvsTB
— Krissy Brierre (@FalconsKrissy) November 17, 2013
You’re not allowed to hold The Worrilow. #ATLvsTB
— Jay Adams (@FalconsJAdams) November 17, 2013
So, I think the #Falcons need to let Paul Worrilow run a tackling clinic for the rest of the team. /cries into hands.
— The DW (@TheWalkerman) November 17, 2013
Bright spot: LB Paul Worrilow. The undrafted rookie linebacker has 54 tackles in last 3 games. That's not a typo. #ATLvsTB
— Daniel Levak (@FalconsDLevak) November 17, 2013
Matt Bryant and Matt Bosher are pretty great, too.
I love Matt Bryant and Matt Bosher forever.
— Jeanna (@jeannathomas) November 17, 2013
Matt Bryant is the falcons best player as of right now #ATLvsTB
— Antavious (@ImAntavious) November 17, 2013
It's a shame when the kicker and punter has more fire then anyone else on the team...#atlvstb
— Derico (@vsu96sdd) November 17, 2013
I can guarantee you that Bosher and Bryant are some of the toughest guys in the league. Great guys to have #RiseUp #ATLvsTB
— Dylan Gannon (@Dylan_Gannon15) November 17, 2013
I know one thing, Bosher and Bryant would have defended Ryan when the saints hit him with that cheap shot Week 1 #falcons
— Accidental Scholar (@Das_ProfX) November 17, 2013
Greg Schiano thinks he's Sean Payton or something.
Well...onside kick/kick in the groin. Same feeling IMO. #ATLvsTB #RiseUp
— Ray K (@kaliforniak) November 17, 2013
That onside kick hurt all sorts of feeling for me. #ATLvsTB
— Victor von Mandarin (@cam4m3) November 17, 2013
Did the Bucs just follow an onside kick with a fake punt pass? A lake of fire is too good for you, Schiano.
— The Falcoholic (@TheFalcoholic) November 17, 2013
Pretending the snap went over Mike Glennon's considerable head is the least convincing of all trick plays
— Jason Kirk (@JasonKirkSBN) November 17, 2013
We've seen everything this game. Fake punts, blocked punts, onside kicks and a nfl team playing a highschool team. #ATLvsTB #RiseUp
— Ray K (@kaliforniak) November 17, 2013
These are all legitimate questions.
Who is this team? I don't know who the Falcons are anymore. #ATLvsTB
— C Wild (@FalconsBoy25) November 17, 2013
Who the hell is bobby rainey #ATLvsTB
— Big Jake (@JacobHeap) November 17, 2013
Did the Falcons leave their defense in Atlanta? #ATLvsTB
— AshleighStone (@AshleighDStone) November 17, 2013
Come on @Atlanta_Falcons, if we're going to tank does it have to be so obvious? #ATLvsTB
— Tom Caiafa (@tomcaiafa) November 17, 2013
Is Matt Ryan throwing with the correct arm?
— Fantasy Jeanyus (@CaptainComment1) November 17, 2013
Do we really have to play the rest of our games?.. #ATLvsTB @TheFalcoholic
— Michael Aprile (@michaelryannn) November 17, 2013
Are those cannons at the stadium real? I think I'm gonna go stand in front of them.
— Jenna Bannister (@JennaEarwood) November 17, 2013
Mike Smith benched yet?
— Matt (@FalconsM5) November 17, 2013
Do the #Falcons have 11 men on the field for each play? #ATLvsTB
— JS Dust (@Justsomedust) November 17, 2013
Fans have different ways of coping.
Sometimes you have to laugh so you don't cry. When that's not enough, you have to turn off the Falcons and take a nap. #ATLvsTB
— Rachel McDaniel (@racmcd08) November 17, 2013
At least at Panthers stadium they have Bojangles to cheer me up. Lemme go see what emotional eating I can do at Raymond James... #ATLvsTB

Halftime speeches, anyone?
@jeannathomas "You're buying me drinks...all the drinks...after this game."
— Jenna Bannister (@JennaEarwood) November 17, 2013
@jeannathomas "alright guys we let them have the lead, now it is time to play for real!....."

Dating tips: if you're interested in a Falcons fan, don't text her and ask her what's wrong with her team. You're welcome.
How do I respond to a text from a guy that says, "What's wrong with your team?" I'm thinking "No 2nd date for you."
— WonderJaye (@WonderJaye) November 17, 2013
Other guy sends texts of condolences, I reply "thanks". Now I'm getting more apologetic texts. Possibly worth a look.
— WonderJaye (@WonderJaye) November 17, 2013
Or maybe we should all file a class action suit. Matt Ryan probably wants in on it.
Stephen Jackson should sue the Falcon's Oline.
— Jamie Dukes (@jamiedukes) November 17, 2013
Midway through 3rd Qtr, Ryan has been hit 11 times, hurried once, sacked three times and knocked down 6 times. #ATLvsTB
— Atlanta_Falcons (@Atlanta_Falcons) November 17, 2013
Let's just say DeCoud is not a fan favorite. He's probably not a coach favorite, either, as he was benched yesterday in favor of rookie 7th rounder Zeke Motta.
Thomas DeWhatInTheHell.
— Matt (@FalconsM5) November 17, 2013
From Pro-Bowler to Chump, the Thomas DeCoud story.

DeCoud gave up that catch right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. #DeWho? #DeCouldnt
— Kimberly (@TheFalconsDiva) November 17, 2013
Of course Dominique Davis got hurt when he went in to relieve Matt Ryan because the game was entirely out of reach.
Oh boy. Dominique Davis limping around the field. Being held up by trainers and not heading to the sideline slowly. #ATLvsTB
— Jay Adams (@FalconsJAdams) November 17, 2013
Truer words were never spoken.
Falcons, this is just embarrassing... and Tampa, that field looks like you keep cattle on it between games! #ATLvsTB
— Annie B (@AnnieBaker78) November 17, 2013
Not in a good way, I might add.
Wow these Atlanta Falcons are shocking! #ATLvsTB

I just don't know who to blame anymore. Coordinators? Players? Smitty? This is shockingly bad. #Falcons

Reevaluate your team. A 1-8 team disrespected you and dominated you. Somebody needs to get fired mid-season. There. I said it. ATLvsTB
— Shannan O (@shannanunc) November 17, 2013
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL. #ATLvsTB

38-6. I'm sorry, everyone. I'm so sorry.
— The Falcoholic (@TheFalcoholic) November 17, 2013
It's the nature of these #Falcons losses that are distressing. Sign of a team that is lost - that has little belief in itself.

Adding insult to injury a drew brees commercial. #RiseUp #ATLvsTB

No. I don't want to see smiles on that damn sideline. This is not a party. We're not having fun.

The Falcons really are that bad. Shockingly bad. What a dumpster fire of a season. #ATLvsTB

How does yesterday's loss impact the Falcons' BCS standing?
I am really excited for the Falcons to play in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl and lose to Navy.
— Alex Welch (@alex__welch) November 17, 2013
Maybe the Falcons really do know what they're doing here.
This is all part of our master plan. We make the Bucs look good so they'll bring Schiano back.
— The DW (@TheWalkerman) November 17, 2013
Hey, let's talk about the draft!
my concerns about losing out on Clowney have been alleviated #ATLvsTB
— Accidental Scholar (@Das_ProfX) November 17, 2013
uh top 1 bro RT@AShirkey 4m Top 5 draft pick here we come #Falcons
— Alex Welch (@alex__welch) November 17, 2013
Jason Kirk should maybe be in charge of all personnel decisions.
The Falcons must draft Clowney, feed him peanut butter sandwiches without end, have him play offensive line
— Jason Kirk (@JasonKirkSBN) November 17, 2013
Draft Clowney, give him a nickname, teach him to play quarterback
— Jason Kirk (@JasonKirkSBN) November 17, 2013
Draft Clowney, teach him stealth, order him to alter Gerald McCoy's appointment calendar so that McCoy is late to every game
— Jason Kirk (@JasonKirkSBN) November 17, 2013
Eh, close enough.
I did'nt read the #ATLvsTB hashtag as "Atlanta vs Tampa Bay" as I should have. I instead read it as "Atlanta vs Tuberculosis" #whoopingcough
