Falcons-Bucs Injury Recap: Dominique Davis Banged Up

Fact: Dominique Davis' football abilities need some work, but he wears the heck out of a hat.

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

It's a good thing if you can make it through an entire game without any starters getting injured. For the Falcons, that hasn't been the norm this year. In the Falcons' week 10 loss to the Buccaneers, the only (ostensibly) injured player was Dominique Davis.

Davis saw his first regular season action once the game was clearly out of reach for the Falcons. A smart move by Mike Smith given how horribly the offensive line was protecting his team's $100 million investment today. Davis didn't screw anything up, other than allowing himself to get injured. He walked off the field with the help of trainers, making his injury seem somewhat serious. He was still bothered by whatever took him out of game after spending some time on the sideline.

Like I said, we were lucky to make it out of this one without any particularly noteworthy injuries. We're playing horribly, and I'd hate to jinx the team, but it's worth noting that we can ill afford an injury that could affect 2014 in any way, shape, or form. I'm talking about an injury that could require surgery or rehab or in any way affect a regular off-season. That said, I'm going to just close my eyes really tight and try to imagine that's a non-possibility. You'd be smart to do the same.
